Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance

It's back  to school today! :)  I'm really excited to see my friends and start my new program!

I'm wearing Bad Romance today!

Bad Romance is basically the same as the gorgeous Ruby Red Slippers. only with purple glitter. It is as beautiful and I love it just as much - I'm sure I'll be saying the same thing for Across the Universe. I had no problem with application, two coats were enough for me. It dried fairly fast too. The only thing I'm dreading: removal.

Alright I can't write much more, I have to go to school!!!
Have a great day!

L'Oréal Resist and Shine

Hi!
Again, I want to apologize for being so bad at this blogging thing. I've been out enjoying the weather with some friends, eating cupcakes and soaking up the sun :). I'll update more frequently, promise!

Last week, my sister bought a bottle of L'Oreal Resist and Shine Titanium on sale and I thought I'd give it a try. Their website describes this collection as follows:
'The latest range of Glossy Blacks from Resist and Shine Titanium features beautiful black metallic colors for eye-catching nails for any occasion!'

This one is 734 Black Red.

It is exactly as the name says: its a blackened red. It's really gorgeous! I love how you can see the red sparkles in the sun/light!This was 2 coats, application was pretty good, I liked the formula thought I cannot say I particularly liked the small brush handle. The polish is resistant: after 4 days, I only have minor tip wear, which is barely noticeable.

Also part of the collection are black purple, black blue, black turquoise, black gold and black mauve. They retail for about 9-10$ CDN each and I'd say it's definitely worth trying.

Going to see Patrick Watson in concert tonight! Can't wait!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Black Russian

Hello!!
Today, I have for you RBL's Black Russian, a smooth black creme with red micro glitter. It's really beautiful. The glitter is fine enough so that when the polish dries, it's not too bumpy. From afar it looks black, but when the light hits, you see the red glitter sparkle and it's pretty!!!!

Color Club Revvvolution

Happy Saturday!

We had a bit of sun recently so I hastily grabbed two bottles of holo polish to swatch!

The first, Color Club Revvvolution, a black holographic.

Pretttyy!! 2 coats was enough to achieve bottle color, as the polish itself was very pigmented. The consistency of the formula was great. For some reason, I thought this one would be more holo but eh, whatever. It's still gorgeous!

Last week's manis...

Hi all! I'm sorry for the lack of updates!
Last week was my first week of school so I've been busy waiting for a spot to open up for me in the classes I wanted to take. Plus, I needed additional information about my program transfer so I met with several academic advisors!

This past week, I had ManGlaze The Death Tar, Zoya Alix and OPI Catherine the Grape on my nails. Not together, of course, I did manage to change mani during the week.

The Death Tar I have is the "original" version, which is less black and less matte than the new, vegan version, called Matte is Murder. Please excuse the dry hands here.. I had just gotten back from school when I took the photograph.

Next is Zoya Alix, a gorgeous dark red creme. I have to say that this is probably my favorite red polish from my collection. The photograph doesn't do it justice though, for some reason, I had a hard time capturing its true color...... So I'll leave you with 2 Alix pictures!

Finally, we have OPI Catherine the Grape, a purple shimmer. I'm a sucker for anything purple, so I love it!

So that's all! I promise I'll update more regularly now, since I have 2 days off during the week :)

Anything new with you guys?! Any nail polish hauls?!

Sephora by OPI Dark Room

Another $OPI!!
Later in the summer, Sephora released a color "exclusive" to Beauty Insiders. "Exclusive" because I saw it in display in stores, so anybody can buy it. Any
ways, their website describes Dark Room as a "deep almost black with a hint of midnight green". I think this is a pretty acurate description.

I know many were expecting this to be more green and were decei
ved. It has a hint of teal in there, very visible in the bottle but not so so much on the nails.

I'm not blown away by this one.. The formula was pretty thin, as it took me 3 coats for it to be opaque.

You can get this in-stores now or from Sephora.com

Lippmann Collection Celebration Set

Finally! I have some pictures of the Lippmann Collection Celebration Set. I'm a big procrastinator, what can I say?!

Funky Chunky:
Sheer black-based polish with little black hexagonal glitter. Now I've heard really bad reviews about this polish, but I saw a picture Vampy Varnish I really liked it, so I thought I'd give it a chance. Turns out, even though it's not the most fun polish to apply, the effect here is pretty cool! Like Ms. Lippmann said, it's something very futuristic. 2 coats
Huh? Pretty cool right? Sorry about the random hair on the nail in the first picture btw.
The key to having a cool look with this one is to not put a top coat on and just let the glitter be: don't try to position them and make it look "good". It'll look good on its own.

Superstar:
Brown based packed glitter polish. I really liked how much glitter was stuffed in this polish. At first, I didn't really like the color on me, but the more I have it on, the more I like it. I don't know if I'll be wearing it a lot though, because removal was a b***h... Very nice, though! See it sparkle in the sun!

Ruby Red Slippers:
This one was the one I was most excited about, and it did NOT disappoint!!! I love this sooo much! It might be one of my favorite nail polish! Black based polish with red normal and hexagonal glitter. It's gorgeous. That's it, that's all. 3 coats
GORGEOUS!

Sephora by OPI Mattes

Hi guys! Hope you're having a fun weekend!
Last month, I got the Sephora by OPI matte nail polishes. I guess they're following OPI's direction and "reissued" some colors. I believe all three are from $OPI's core line but I might be wrong...

Metro Chich Matte - "matte dark smoke with a hint of purple". The original one was a hit amongst nail polish fanatics. I don't own the original one but I believe matte is lightly (at least from the pictures I've seen)

Domestic Goddess Matte is probably my favorite out of all three. "matte bright grape" as described on Sephora's website. It really pretty. I love purple polishes and this one was no exception.

What's a Tire Jack? Matte is a very matte black. There's no other way to describe it. I also love this one. My 2nd favorite, I guess. It's a true black and true matte.

Application with these were fairly good. They all took 2-3 coats. They didn't dry as fast as the Matte OPIs but still in decent time. The formula was not too thick compared to other matte. I swatched these very quickly but if I had been more careful with my application, there would not have been those bumps and dents on my nails. Please excuse them :)

I really like the matte finish of these $OPI. It's not as chalky as the OPI mattes, which is a good thing. They look... matte. That's all.

Similar to other mattes, they recommend to not use it with base coat, top coat or hand lotion. But you guys can totally ignore that (except the top coat part if you want it to be matte, duh). I used it with base coat and it was fine. As long as the base is dried before you apply color. As for the hand lotion, it'll make the finish more satiny but it won't be glossy.

You can get these three polishes from Sephora's website for $9 US or $12 CAD. They are also sold in stores now. These are limited edition so get them while you can!
