Nails Inc Haymarket

I finally got some time to try my Nails Inc nail polish. This one is called Haymarket. It is a cream turquoise colour. It looks a lot like China Glaze For Audrey but this Nails Inc one is a bit green-er. I've been told that Nails Inc is very popular in Britain so my expectations for this brand was pretty high. Overall, it is not bad. Application was ok smooth, but I felt it was more like paint than nail polish hahahah Ohh one more thing, a good top coat is a must to have a glossy finish touch on Nails Inc nail polishes. For some reason, the colour looks.. I wouldn't say matte but it is definitely not shiny. I've always believed that aperfect manicure should look perfectly smooth and glossy, so to me, this is a big imperfection... but as summer is approaching, it's nice to have this colour on the nails!

Other nails-related gifts =)

I have been so jealous seeing Xuan-An's MAC gift... Last week-end, I met a friend who had been in exchange for a few months and just came back recently. Among the few little gifts she bought me, I found a few nail polishes! Yay!

Nails Inc is a brand you see everywhere in England according to my friend. As for Bourjois, I have seen the name when I was in Hong Kong..but it was a "eau de gloss". Unlike the other lip glosses, the eau de gloss is not sticky at all and i just love it! I hope the nail polish will not disappoint me!

Color Club Age of Aquarius

Hi guys!!

Hope you all had a good week!

I am going to make a quick update and not write much, since I have to live for school...

I'm currently wearing Color Club Age of Aquarius on my nails. It's such a cute color! Everytime I look at my nails, I'm reminded of turquoise beaches.... Oh how I miss summer already!

Application was much better then Ms Socialite, partly because I did not have a weird brush. 3 coats.

Have a great day!

Bridal Shower!!!

The bridal shower was a success!!!! I'm so glad it's over as I'm REALLY tired... hahaha

I wore China Glaze For Audrey on my nails, to keep it cute and summery:

My sister, cousin and I prepared food for the brunch for 2 days!!!! We were SO full by the end of the evening!!

Part of the dessert, green tea cupcakes (with matcha buttercream on left and vanilla buttercream on right). We also had vanilla cupcakes, lemon cookies, sweet sticky rice and fruit salad. The buttercream was melting because of the hot weather

We gave the all the attendees some party favors, homemade chocolate! Yummy! They were carefully placed in the cutest little boxes
All in all, we all had a blast! The bride-to-be was very happy :D

China Glaze For Audrey

Hey readers!!
I'm so sorry I haven't responded to any comments, but thank you so much for taking the time to write something :) .

I have great news!! The place where I worked last summer called me back! Yay! I can finally plan a mega polish haul!

A beautiful turquoise inspired by Tiffany blue. It's truly scrumptious! (sorry, I just watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, couldn't help myself!). Seriously, though, it's really nice and really fresh! Perfect for Spring/Summer! Application was flawless, too!! This was 2 coats.

For Audrey is still available at TransDesign and 8ty8beauty

2010

Hi!

How has 2010 been treating you?! School has started yesterday and I have to say that I'm pretty excited about this next semester! I am taking Art History classes now, and I'm looking forward to an official transfer from management in Spring. I've always been into all kinds of art so I know I'll have so much fun!

Anyways, I have swatched anything for a while, as my break was mostly full of family reunions. Needless to say, we ate most of the time... However, I managed to capture a few of my NOTD.

The first is China Glaze Cords-nice metallic taupe. It's beautiful and application was easy and smooth.

Next is Sephora by OPI Ocean Love Potion-creme turquoise. It is very similar to Misa Dirty Sexy Money, only OLP is darker. Unfortunalety, I do not have a comparison shot.

After baking my first batch of cookies, my cousin asked me to bake more (80 cookies!!) for a potluck party she was going to attend. I asked my sister to assist me and we decided to name our bakery Tinix and Arnton's bakery, influenced by Felix and Norton, of course (our family calls us Tina and Annie).

Our second attempt was soooo much better! There looked good and tasted excellent! I followed to recipe and used baking soda and all purpose flour, unlike last time. We're looking to start our cookie business soon ;)

Finally, I got the best gift ever from my cousin!!! A SNUGGIE! It's really the best thing ever! It keeps me warn and is super soft! Plus, a bonus reading light doesn't hurt! I used my Snuggie all the time now! My cousin told me she had wanted to get me the pink or zebra ones, but guess what?! It was SOLD OUT! How crazy is that?! I didn't think people actually liked this... but I'm now a Snuggie convert!
I hope you guys all had a blast celebrating the New Year!
Any New Year's resolution?

Until next time,
Xuan-An

Sally Hansen Honeydew

This one is from last week. I picked one up from my untrieds bin and surprise, surprise, it was Honeydew, from the Tracy Reese Spring 2009 collection!!!

I was going to put a top coat until I spotted my Essie Matte about You.

This is Honeydew without top coat (with bad bathroom light):

and here it is with Matte about You:

Beautiful turquoise shimmer. It's absolutely gorgeous. I think I'll be grabbing this one a lot, despite the craptastic formula. It was pretty bad..... but at least the color kinda makes up for it :)

I know this one was kinda hard to find-I still have never seen it sold in Montreal. I was lucky enough to get this in a swap :) Gotta love swaps!

Enjoy your weekend!

Sephora by OPI Mermaid to Order

Last summer, the Sephora by OPI team released 6 "mermaid" shades. The collection consisted of 6 bottles of greys, turquoise and blues.

I got one of them, Mermaid to Order after hearing all the great feedback it got.

I'll be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I would describe this as a a metallic turquoise with shimmer. The color gorgeous but I don't like the metallic finish too too much, since 95% of the time, you can see brushstrokes. It wasn't that bad here, but I'm still not fully in love with this color. It's a bit sheer so this took me 3 coats.

These are still available on Sephora's website here.
