Konad

Hi!!Dropping by quickly to post this manicure from my friend - a funky french manicure with Konad plate M44.

I've been so busy watching the Olympics, I haven't changed my mani since my last konadicure!! It's all that I've been doing this past week: Olympics has made me a hermit :(
I feel soooo guilty when I miss an event, so I'd rather stay in front of the TV than go shopping or do something more useful. I get so emotionally involved for every single event, especially for hockey and speed skating, I don't think it's normal!! I'm thinking I might need to go to rehab after the closing ceremonies.... haha....

Am I the only one crazy about the O games? Please make me feel better about this, readers ;)

Love,
Xuan-An

Miss K just sent me this!! Yay! 2 konadicure posts in a row!!

Konadicure with Zoya Harley

I used Zoya Harley for the base - it's a soft grey shimmer. It's simple and subtle! 2 coats to achieve opacity.

For the motif, I used Konad plate M74 with Konad special polish in black. This was my first time using a black polish for the motif... I didn't think clean-up was going to be that messy!!! The black kept smudging on my finger, but I found out that scraping the excess off was much easier and cleaner!!! I guess I'll know for next time!!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Drifter

RBL Drifter is a dark plum creme. It's really nice, dries a tad bit darker than I had expected. The formula had a great consistency and is really pigmented, so I only needed 2 thin coats!

I spent my first day-off cleaning my room! Oh dear Lord, how messy it was!!
I always need to clean up my room to realize how bad it was before!! At least, I could still find my stuff easily ;P

Week-late Valentine's Day mani

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day last week!!
I got to spend it with my family, as we also celebrated the Lunar New Year!

I guess I could have used more appropriate colors, but oh whatever! :)

I used GOSH Silver as a base - a nice silver foil and - and then added a layer of Honey-dew You Love Me, which is clear polish with blue regular glitter and blue heart glitters. How cute is that polish's name?!

Alright so who here also follows the Olympics religiously?!?!
What is/was your favorite sport to watch?? How awesome was Shaun White's last run down that half pipe?

I'm baaackk!!

Yay for reading week!!!

To all those who are still having midterm exams, Good Luck!!

First, I'd like to wish you all a Happy Lunar New Year! I hope Year of the Tiger will be better than the Year of the Ox!!!

Alright, I have some catching up to do, so here was my NY mani:

I used Nicole I Stop for Nicole, a nice frosty red with gold micro glitter.

The influence was these Chinese red envelopes:

Hello

Hey guys!!!

I just wanted to take a quick moment to say sorry about the lack of updates!!!
This week is my midterm week, so I've been hard at work studying.. Reading (and I'll be honest, the Olympics) have taken up all my time.

However, I do have mine and my friend's Valentine's Day manis to show you!! I'll do that next week, since it'll be my study break! Expect some regular updates then!

Also, I've reached the 50 followers mark!!!! Horray for me!!!!!
Thank you all so much for reading my posts and taking time to comment :) I really appreciate it!

I have a giveaway prepared for you guys, so check back soon!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoy the Olympics ;)

Nfu Oh 279

Wow! I can't believe I didn't pull this one out of my boxes sooner!!! It's gorgeous!!
279 is a blue than has a hint of teal/green, which makes it very special--it's not a flat blue, as you can see. 2 coats.

Miss K uses China Glaze Thunderbird too!

Yesterday, I showed you China Glaze Thunderbird, one of my favorite shade of red.

Obviously, Miss K liked it too, as she has asked to borrow it to do these konadicures

China Glaze Thunderbird

This one is an absolutely gorgeous dark red from China Glaze's Retro Diva Collection. Its definitely got a retro vibe to it, and that's why I love it so much!!

inspired by

As many of you have heard, Mr. Alexander McQueen died this morning. This is a big loss for the fashion world, as he was a brilliant designer. He was my personal favorite and I always looked forward to his collections. A real genius.

He will be greatly missed.
My heart goes out to his friends and family

Miss K Valentine's Day mani II

Hi!
I have another VDay design for you today!

I actually think this is the first time that I've seen my friend paint her whole nail in one colour (edited to add: in another color than pink or light pink)!!! She normally has a french manicure, that's why. I just thought of that while blogging this..... anyways......

Miss K used GOSH Wild Lilac as a base color and used Konad stamps M3 and M59 for the heart designs!!

Color Club Electronica

Prettiness!!! Electronica is a gorgeous deep blueish purple shimmer. I couldn't get an accurate photograph, so I tried editing the pictures I got a bit to get a good representation. Application was good-formula is pigmented, great consistency and it dried in a reasonable amount of time.

MAC Peppermint Patti

Remember this one?! I remember the big hype about MAC Peppermint Patti last spring. I wasn't a polish hoarder yet when it was release, but when it came out, I just knew that I had to get it!! and so it all started... ;)

Peppermint Patti is a minty turquoise green. I didn't have any application problem. Two coats was enough to achieve bottle color.

OPI Purple with a Purpose

This has got to be one of the nicest purple shimmer polishes that I own. I absolutely love it! It's a tad lighter in real life than pictured. Pictured is 2 coat, perfect application, although my brush was a bit wonky...

Miss K's Valentine's Day inspired mani

I haven't had a Miss K post in a while!! I should catch up...

This week, my dear friend did a cute konadicure. She used a light frosty pink polish from Yves Rocher and plate M59 for this design.
I have been told by Miss K herself that she is working on a Valentine's Day mani Collection ;) can't wait to see what she does next!!

Essie Shelter Island

From Essie's North Fork Collection, this is Shelter Island. A beautiful azure shade. The formula was absolutely amazing - same with my bottle of Greenport and Sag Harbor - no dragging, no pulling, it was opaque in two coats. I absolutely love this collection!!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Black Russian

Hello!!
Today, I have for you RBL's Black Russian, a smooth black creme with red micro glitter. It's really beautiful. The glitter is fine enough so that when the polish dries, it's not too bumpy. From afar it looks black, but when the light hits, you see the red glitter sparkle and it's pretty!!!!

Essie Wild Thing

Today I have for you Essie Wild Thing, a 'ferociously sparkling wine' color, as described on Essie's website. This is, according to me, a rosy red shimmer with a small amount of silver glitter. It's very cutesy but I thought it did not have enough glitter!! Needs moar!!!

Have an amazing day!

Sally Hansen Arabian Night

Good morning!!
I hope you all enjoyed the weekend!

Today I have for you SH Arabian Night, a beautiful purple polish filled with tiny tiny gold flecks, from Tracy Reese for Sally Hansen Spring 2008 collection. Beautiful and easy to remove. I like!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now....I have a little ranting to do... I watched the Grammy last night.. As much as I love Taylor Swift, she absolutely did not deserve the Album of the Year award!!!!! No no no no no no. NO. Her songs are catchy, she writes her own songs, which is remarkable, she had a great year, blahblahblah but girl cannot perform and I thought that it should've gone to Lady Gaga, whose year 2009 was out-of-this-world!!!!!!!!!!!! She was and is the bomb diggity and I'm not even a big fan!! Can't you get it right Recording Academy?!?!?!?!! Also, MGMT should've won Best New Artist even though they're not 'new'.

Oh and Lil Wayne, Eminem and Drake's performance? It would have been amazing if it 85% of the song hadn't been bleeped out! Hahaha Whoever was employed to censor that performance should be fired. Rant over.

On a side note, did anybody see Britney Spears?! Eeehhh...

Fiou.... I should learn not to get so emotionally involved in these award ceremonies, eh? :P

Anybody has any ranting to do, do it here!!! I'm a good listener/reader!

Have a great week!
