China Glaze For Audrey

Hey readers!!
I'm so sorry I haven't responded to any comments, but thank you so much for taking the time to write something :) .

I have great news!! The place where I worked last summer called me back! Yay! I can finally plan a mega polish haul!

A beautiful turquoise inspired by Tiffany blue. It's truly scrumptious! (sorry, I just watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, couldn't help myself!). Seriously, though, it's really nice and really fresh! Perfect for Spring/Summer! Application was flawless, too!! This was 2 coats.

For Audrey is still available at TransDesign and 8ty8beauty

Zoya Kalista

Boy am I glad my first semester at University is almost over... It's been chaotic!!
Right now, I'm not sure if I want to stay in the same program anymore, but we'll see...

Anyways. This is my mani from 2 days ago, so please excuse the tip wear! It's been two full days of typing on the computer and doing statistics...

Beautiful reddish brown shimmer! I absolutely love this, and I don't normally wear brown (whether it's nail polish or clothes). Zoya's formula is also great so I have no complaints there!

Have a fun weekend!

NOTD: Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze

Happy Monday!
I have a busy week ahead of me getting ready for my Marketing presentation... HAPPY TIMES!

Anyways, I have sooo many purple polishes that I've never tried, I randomly picked two in a row this week. Usually, when that happens, I always go back to my untrieds box and pick another one...

I'll start with the latest one I've had on my nails, which is also my nail of the day!

As I've said many times before, Rescue Beauty Lounge's formulas are simply perfection, so I'm not gonna say anything more.

Purple Haze is a beautiful purple creme. I thought I had one pretty close to this color in my stash, but I was wrong. Very unique, I'd say.

I'm off to do more research for our project. We must NAIL this presentation because there is no way in hell I'll be able to get a good mark in the final. ;)

Rescue Beauty Lounge Bruised

Monday's NOTD for my Marketing Management presentation:
RBL Bruised, a muted redish-brown shade. This polish is veery pretty. Application was flawless, as for all RBL polishes that I own.

I don't know what else to write... I feeling pretty depressed right now because of school. I've been studying so hard and everything, but things just can't seem to go right. My grades have been horrible!!!!!!!! But I'm keeping my head up... I'm sure it's just a "first-year" thing....... :)

China Glaze Recycle

Hey guys,

The weather here in Montreal is pretty eh lately: super cold and there was snow!! Already!!!

So because of the weather and because I was stressed out for my exams, I was in a mood for grey polish!! I love greys. I find that color so beautiful, it can be cool and edgy yet elegant at the same time. Plus, it goes with every other color!! (Note: this picture was taken after 2 days of staying up late at school+one full exam day, so pardon the chips!)

China Glaze Recycle. Beautiful smooth grey creme. It may seems pretty sheer at first, but 2 coats is more than enough for it to be opaque.

FYI, next week is probably going to be neutral week. I have 2 presentations for Marketing class and we have to look "professional". Whatever that means.......

NOTD: Orly Velvet Rope

My nail of the day:
Beautiful purple with tiny silver glitter. I actually though that the glitters would be more visible. :( I love Orly's formulas. I have never had any difficulties with their polishes yet; and I love the rubber handle!

Essie Status Symbol

Another pink! This is Essie Status Symbol. A pretty Barbie-ish pink.

Application was a breeze! No clean up necessary! This was 2 coats with top coat.

So I've realized after wearing pink on my nail that I don't like pink nail polish. I like to see it on other people but when I'm the one wearing it, I can't help but think "ehhh" everytime I look at my own nails. It's probably because I've never been a girly girl, but anyways.

I guess October is going to help me get through all my untried pinks.
Also, my dear mom came home with a bottle of pure acetone for me! What rhis means: I can wear my glitter polishes!!!!!YAY!

Sally Hansen HD Hi-Res

As I've told you before, October is Breast cancer awareness month. So for a few days, I've decided to wear pinks on my nails.

First up was Sally Hansen HD Hi-Res. My pictures don't show the color acurately. It is more rosy in real life. My sister described this polish as "superhero".... whatever that means...

Look how shiny!!!! This was 2 coats plus Nubar Diamont top Coat.

I like this color but I don't think I like it on me.... I'm not too big on pinkish color, plus I like creme finishes. Call me boring if you want! :P

Next week-

Since October is breast cancer awareness month, I will be wearing/showing you pink nail polish as much as I can. I say "as much as I can" because I don't have that many pinks and I don't really like pink, so I don't know how long I can keep a color on my nails. Nevertheless, I want to honor all women out there. I'll try get in some of Lippmann Collection's Anniversary set in for the weekend too.

Enjoy the weekend!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Orbis Non Sufficit

Continuing with another Rescue Beauty Lounge Blogger polish!!

This one is from the Polish Addict, named Orbis Non Sufficit:

I'll get to the polish in a minute, but I just had to say: "DAMN YOU SCHOOL!!!!! LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY HANDS!".

Ok done.

I would describe Orbis Non Sufficit as a muted army green creme. It's very pretty and one of the rare greens that I like on my nails. It has a dusty look too, which I love. Pictured above was 2 coats, with Poshe top coat.

As for the other RBLs application was amazing. See that picture? I didn't do any clean-up because it was that easy to apply and control. If only all nail polishes were like that.

Again, these polishes are limited edition and retail for $18/ea USD. For all international gals, I would say get this, but only if you can justify paying $40 for shipping!

Here's another picture in sunlight:

As promised,

Here's my mani for the Gonzales concert and the last four days. YES! FOUR! OMG Scandalous!

Dior's Porcelain/Porcelaine can be described as a pinkish porcelain color with white silverish shimmer. It's really cute and pretty. I believe it was from their Spring 2009 collection.

See the shimmer:

Gaaaahhhh...

There's so much homework in University! I'm not used to this. In Cegep/college, I could slack off and still have a good grade... now, NOOOOO!!!! Almost everything is in group (I'm in marketing so "team work and communication is key to success...") and I don't want to let my teammates down... I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the assignments, reports and presentations, especially when there's at least 2 due every week.

Also, I do not like nor do I understand accounting.

Anyways. I had China Glaze's Gussied Up Green on my nails today and I did take some pictures, but they did not turn out great. We can really see the color and it's blurry. I guess today wasn't my day...

I've taken it off before looking at the pics... so I guess I'll have to put it back on another day :)

Good Night!

Amour Rain Glitter

Yesterday, we celebrated my sister's 21st birthday!! Woo hoo! She's getting so old!!!

For the occasion, I wanted something festive, so I chose Amour's Rain Glitter. As the name says, it's glitter; which means A PAIN IN THE A$$ TO REMOVE! Holy moly. I totally did not think about this, especially when I'm out of acetone. Took me a good 30 minutes of heavy "scrubbing" to get it all out.

Advice for the future: I've heard that putting a coat of clear nail polish or top coat in between coats of glitter nail polish makes removal easier.

Anyways, back to Rain Glitter. Clear nail polish filled with multicolor glitter! It's like packed with glitter. Seriously. This was 2 coats:

Everytime I put on glitter nail polish, I swear I will never do it again because getting it off is such a hassle, but they're so pretty! I only have 4 right now, but they're so fun and sparkly!

Enjoy your week!

China Glaze Let's Groove

As promised, here are some pictures of my mani for the KoL concert

Both pictures were taken with flash.

The nail polish is Let's Groove from China Glaze's Retro Diva collection.

For the show, I wanted something sexy but still rockish (like Kings of Leon music) and from my box of untrieds, I picked this one and think it was perfect!
A gorgeous rich and warm dark purple shimmer. There are a few red and blue little glitters that you can see in the pictures.

I have never had a difficulty with China Glaze (knock on wood) so application for this one was perfect: smooth, no pulling, not too thick, not too thin.

I had to take these pictures with flash or else, the colour is just not right. I know purples are supposed to be hard to capture but in natural and sun light, it turned out blue....

Anyways, you can get these from: 8ty8beauty.com; Head2ToeBeauty.com (ships China Glaze to US only though) and from TransDesign.com

NOTD: OPI DS Mystery

Hey guys! Just finished my second week at U and I'm filled with homework already!!!!
But otherwise, I like my teachers (have my favorites already), met some very nice people and love that shops are so close-by! Haha

Anyways, today, I had one of OPI's newest from the Designer Series. It's called DS Mystery.
It is truly beautiful. It's base is a deep dark purple. It almost looks black in some light, but you can definitely tell in sunlight that there are some purple in there! Not a lot but still.... It's filled with tiny tiny gold flakes. Unlike the other DS, Mystery is not a holo but more glittery.

Do you see the purple?!?!?!?! I assure you that it's there...

This is in the shade so that you can see the glitters (click to enlarge picture). I love it.

Overall, I liked this polish, although I would have liked it to have more of the purple, because I loooove purple nail polish! Application was good. This was 2 coats. There is a little texture because of the glitters but a good coat of top coat smoothes it all out!

I think that's it for today.. gotta do some research on Canadian Tire for accounting... eurk.

My First NOTD: OPI DS Fantasy

It's Monday! Vacations are over, I'm starting school tomorrow...

To start the week off, I have decided to share with you my Nail of the Day (NOTD)!

As I have told you before, I am a complete nail polish addict. Everyday, I check several polish blogs, follow the Nail board on Make Up Alley (MUA) and think about what color I should wear next.

Well today, I am proud to show you a long-time lemming of mine that I finally was able to get from TransDesign (my fav etailer for everything nail polish): OPI’s DS Fantasy.

It was(is) part of OPI’s Designer Series and is a dark blue holo. Although it is not as holographic as the rest of the collection, it’s still gorgeous! This is two coats, but could easily have been one (amazing!). It went on like so easily, like buttah! You can easily see that this is blue and not black in some lights and blue-ish in others. It’s definitely blue anywhere, anytime, anyday.

Words cannot describe how much I love this polish!

Here it is in the shade:
