MAC Soirée is a beautiful bronze metallic frost. I really liked the formula of this one- it was soooo easy to apply. However, taking it off was kind of a pain (not as bad as glitter, that's for sure). I almost didn't want to change nail polish since the color is so pretty... but I was also dying to try the next one...
Off to study for midterm exams now... next post will be OPI Fiercely Fiona!

MAC Imperial Flower
Here's part 2 of 4 of my MAC gift!
Imperial Flower is truly gorgeous and the name suits the color too!
Orange shimmer. Reminds me of Koi fish... Very good application, although it did need 3 coats. The shimmer is so pretty! You can see in clearly on the bottle in the picture. I am a big fan of the color orange, so I loved this polish from the moment I got it out of the box!

MAC Jade Dragon
Hi guys!!
Hope everybody had a good holiday break!
I just wanted to make a quick update before going out for lunch with Miss K :) It's been a while, I've missed blogging about my nails. They do not look their best right now, (I blame work) but it'll have to do for now.
My cousin gave me 4 MAC polishes for Christmas, including this one, Jade Dragon. I've already tried Imperial Power, but didn't have time snap a picture before it got all chipped. Worry not, I'll probably wear it again in a few days ;)
Getting to the goodies...
This is Jade Dragon, a beautiful green shimmer. It's a tad dark, but visibly green. The shimmer is subtle, but is oh-so nice!! I was also surprised with application. I've had some difficult MAC polishes before, but this one was great. 2 coats.
Edited to add: I will probably update this post with better pictures next time!

MAC Lola Devine
Hi!
Hope you all had a good weekend... Mine was so-so...
Allergies has kicked in. My sinus is blocked, my nose is runny, my eyes itchy, can't stop sneezing, and now I think I have a cold. GREAT!
Moving on......... Today after school, I have decided to go buy nail polishes. I haven't done so in a while so I know it'll make me feel better. Just thinking about it makes me feel better!! :) Haha
MAC Lola Devine is a cute little pink creme. I only used 2 coats, but 3 would've been better, because it is still a tiny bit uneven.
Alrighty. I'm out.
Hopefully, I'll come back home with some nice nail polishes! :)

MAC Spicemix
Hi lovelies,
Hope you all had an amazing weekend!
I decided to pull out a color that I've rarely used, even though I love it!
MAC Spicemix is a brown shimmer. Application was lovely! This was 2 coats, and the polish dried in a reasonable amount of time! When I got this one, I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. I don't normally like brown, but this one is simply beautiful!
We had a bit of snow yesterday.... hope that was the last time!!!!!

MAC Wham Bam Glam Swatch and Comparison
Quick swatch for you guys today! I just got this from the MAC Store!! I bought Wham Bam Glam matte polish from the Riveting Collection, which also includes Studded and Black Enough. My intentions were to get Studded, a light silver matte with 'pearls', but since I really wanted to test MAC's matte formula and Studded was sold out, I went with Wham Bam Glam :)
Here it is, over a basecoat (Nubar Nu Nail)! MAC's web-description is very much what this polish is, a cool dark taupe. Application was alright, just like any other matte nail polishes, the formula is a bit on the thicker side, so you have to work with it carefully. Drying time was normal, to as fast as my OPI suedes, but still in a reasonable amount of time.

Pinkie: Sephora by OPI Metro Chic Matte
Ring: OPI You Don't Know Jacques + Essie Matte About You
Middle: OPI Over the Taupe + Essie Matte About You
Index: MAC Wham Bam Glam
I did a quick comparison of WBG with other taupe polishes I had. The closest match - almost a true match - was OPI You Don't Know Jacques topped with Essie Matte About You top coat. The color was so similar, I actually think that if you have YDKJ and MAY, you don't need Wham Bam Glam: you won't need to worry about having ridges as the formulas are much easier to work with.
[Note: I do not own You Don't Know Jacques Matte, so couldn't do comparison!]
All in all, I would say that if you intend to pick up a MAC matte nail polish, get Studded!! It's really the only one that stands out from the three. This retails for $14.50CAD and $12 USD!

MAC Peppermint Patti
Peppermint Patti is a minty turquoise green. I didn't have any application problem. Two coats was enough to achieve bottle color.

MAC: Jin Soon for MAC Nail Trend FW 2009
Hey guys!!
I finally have pictures of Jin Soon for MAC Nail Trend's Cool Reserve, Dance All Night and Beyond Jealous. There are 3 more from this collection, but I did not buy them just because they did not really appeal to me....
Anyways, I'm so sorry it took me so much time. Because of school, I don't have time to swatch so these are pretty much last weeks NOTDs.
Cool Reserve is described as a "dirty grey lavender" and I can't describe it better. 2 coats.

Dance All Night. I had to have this shade ever since I saw it in pictures, I don't know why. It's red, nothing very unique but it's such a pretty brick red and it's got that old, burnt feel to it that I love. This was 2 coats.

Beyond Jealous is a dark green, almost blackish, but you can definitely see the green base. According to my dad, this is the nicest shade I've ever had on, although he thought it was black hahaha. 2 coats.

I'm pretty satisfied with these 3. The only complaint I have about MAC polishes is that they tend to chip very quickly on me. :(. Otherwise, very nice formula.

Pinks Round Up
October is over, same goes for midterms :) Hoorah!!
So I've been doing pinks this month and realized that I don't have many of them. Haha makes sense, since I don't like pink on my nails all that much.
Here they are:
OPI La Paz-Itively Hot matte

Zoya Ali

Essie Status Symbol

Sally Hansen HD Hi-Res

China Glaze Mom's Chiffon

OPI Kreme de la Kremlin

Zoya Katy

MAC Lola Devine

I have a 3 more pinks in my stash but they're all neon and with the weather right now in Mtl, it's pretty hard to get the color right. I tried, but they all look the same in the pictures... I'll wait till we have a bit of sun, and I'll swatch them again :)

First Day of + Mega haul
I just had my first day of classes at McGill University today and even though I only had 2 classes, it wasn’t half bad. The teachers were funny and the other students seem cool! I say seem because I didn’t actually talk to many of them... My shyness is definitely something I have to get over someday if I want to succeed in marketing. Someday, I said.
I kinda felt weird and lonely, somehow. It doesn’t normally bother me, but today, I was ready to meet new people and super excited to start at McGill... I found myself sitting and looking at the teacher who was talking on the telephone and trying to figure out how the projector worked while people around me introduced themselves to each other. I mean, I wasn’t the only one not presenting myself to a future friend but I felt trapped (in my little lonely Asian bubble).
Anyways, back to school is never easy... so since I finished early today, I decided to stop by the mall and pass by Trade Secrets.. What for? Well, well, surprise, surprise, NAIL POLISH! To comfort myself (wink) I decided do a mega nail polish haul. Okay... it was more an impulse buy but I doubt I’ll regret it. The more (polishes added to my stash) the merrier! I think that’s how the saying goes, right?
Here’s what I got:

The complete Suede collection, one from the Designer Series and two from the Spain Collection

The complete Suede collection (from l-r) : Russian Navy, Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees, We'll Always have Paris, Lincoln Park After Dark, Ink and You Don't Know Jacques!
Here's a closer look:

Left to right: Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees, Ink, Russian Navy

We'll Always Have Paris, You Don't Know Jacques, Lincoln Park After Dark

Pamplona Purple, Can You Tapas This?, DS Mystery
Also, the previous day, I met up with my cousin before she left with her boyfriend for a 7 months-around-the-world-backpack-trip (I really gonna miss her) and had already bought 3 MAC polishes from the new collection.

Dance All Night, Beyond Jealous and Cool Reserve
Ouch! Wallet’s gonna hurt! I really need to find a job ASAP!
Swatches to come on Friday! :)
Have a fun week!
