OPI Katy Perry's Last Friday Night

Finally, I am back to Katy Perry's Collection! I used my second favorite nail polish of the collection, Last Friday Night, to create this lovely and simply nail art, which I decided to name "Little Mermaid".

It was very difficult to achieve bottle colour, so after more than 7 coats, I gave up! Nevertheless, this lighter blue is still very sweet and reminds me of the sea and the fairy tale Little Mermaid. This blue glitter is really cute, I think I prefer this colour over Teenage Dream =)

I asked a few colleagues at work whether I should add a stampling but they all said no.. what do you think?

BioGel manucure for 35$

Teambuy offers BioGel manicure service for 35$!

I am not certain of what BioGel is exactly, but I will try it very soon (hopefully). From what I have understood, BioGel is a type of artificial nails, but it is not a fake nail stick on your real one. It is so far the best artificial nail treatment you can find on the market. Since it is Bio, it does not harm our nails and it lasts longer than acrylic and the regular gel. Once I get my BioGel nails, I will review more about it.

Today, you can purchase a BioGel manicure service for 35$ from Teambuy and you enjoy a BioGel treatment (worth 140$) at Ongles DX. Notice that the 35$ does not include taxes and tips. Usually, you get taxed on the 35$ but they expect tips on the 140$. This treatment includes a choice of colour or French manicure or 2 designs on 2 fingers. I believe appointment is necessary, but don't forget to look at the expiry date.

For more information, visit http://www.teambuy.ca/montreal/

You have about 12 hours to think about it!

**Remember to check the location of Ongles DX before buying it in case it is too far for you! =)

Imadake

Another new izakaya in Montreal! Imadake is situated on the same street as Kazu. They are actually not far from each other, so if one day, you really crave for japanese izakaya food, and you are afraid that the queue for Kazu is too long, Imadake may be an interesting alternative.

This day, my friend and I decided to try Imadake, yes for my birthday again! We thought that since this izakaya was new, we probably didn't need to reserve. Surprisingly, the restaurant was very full! So maybe next time, it's better to call for reservation first! In general, izakaya serves more appetizers than main courses. The concept of izakaya is like bars in the Western culture. You go there to have a drink with friends, so food like tapas are designed to be shared. We ordered many appetizers to share together to enjoy a "real izakaya time"!

Imadake has an open kitchen, which I like because you get to see how the chefs are busy preparing your food, the smell that comes directly to your nose intensifies your appetite, and more importantly, the restaurant is forced to keep the kitchen clean! heheheh

Look! The chef responsible of the grill is so busy!
Black cod is one of the specialties of Imadake. It is one of the BEST cooked fish I have had in my life! It is cooked PERFECTLY! If I could recommend only one dish, this would definitely be the one! It is marinated with miso, allowing a lightly sweet taste and the texture of the fish is not dry at all, very very smooth. Truly impeccable!
Beef tataki. Outside grilled, the middle is raw. Some oil, some sauce, a tiny sour, a tiny spicy, served with green onion. Taste is very good.
Grilled chicken skin. My expectation was very high for this dish since this is a very famous appetizer in Japan. Unfortunately, this was simply deep fried. It tasted like the Chinese deep fried fish skin.
Cow tongue. This is grilled. The texture is different from what I remember I have tasted in Hong Kong, this one is smoother. I personnally find this appetizer looks more like a Vietnamese meal hahaha Nevertheless, the taste was wonderful!
Takoyaki. Another famous snack from Japan. It is a flour ball with a piece of octopus inside. I believe this one was also deep fried, so the outside is more dry than what it should be. Otherwise, the taste comes mainly from the brown sauce and the mayonnaise, so takoyaki tastes almost the same in all restaurants.
Unagi canape is a specialty that I do not recommend. There is nothing special about it. A piece of rice cake deep fried topped with a light mayonnaise-like sauce, avocado, unagi (eel) and cucomber. It was dry to me. Nothing impressive.
Lastly, we ordered 2 desserts. Green tea cheesecake looks better than it tastes. The taste of green tea was subtle..too subtle we could barely taste it. The strawberry sirop was also too strong and hid the green tea even more.
Black sesame ice cream was all right. It was not my first time having this ice cream so I was not as amazed as my friend was.

Bigger than Kazu, Imadake provides a very comfortable and nice ambiance. Since it is darker, you feel like you are eating in a Japanese style bar. It is a place that I recommend to all of you!

Lunch @Kazu

Hello!

I think it's time for me to post about Kazu, a famous Izakaya in Montreal. This little gem is quite new and it is worth mentioning that people are willing to line up (even when it is verrrrrrry cold) to enjoy the delights from this place.

If you don't want to wait for too long, I suggest you go there for lunch. The restaurant opens at 12pm, so try to get there by 11:50, and you will avoid the long waiting time of 30 minutes! Although the lunch menu contains only a few choices, but trust me, you will still be satisfied with the food =)

A few days ago, I went to Kazu for lunch with 2 friends I haven't seen for soo long!! We had some good time, but also some yummy food! You will notice that although Kazu is a japanese izakaya, the presentation of the food seems to be very westernized.

This is calcium salmon. It is a paste with I don't know what sauce and spices, and you serve it with the warm tortilla.

This course is like the calcium salmon, but instead of using fish, the chef used pork cheeks. The sauce used in pork cheeks is different, which is amazing because you don't feel like eating two same dishes. They are both apetizing. The taste of the calcium salmon is more light, I believe it's because it is more "oily" whereas the pork cheeks has a saltier sauce.

We all ordered a main dish, so we could choose between a soup or a salad. That day, Kazu offered a ginger soup. I chose the soup for it is more special and ginger contains some nutriments for keep fit heheheh The taste of ginger was not too strong, just enough, so very easy to accept, even for those who are not a ginger fan.
If you can't bear the taste of ginger, you could still pick the salad which was a mashed potato salad that day.
Main course time!
This one is the salmon and tuna bowl. You find salmon and tuna sashimi in cube, salad, rice, and some tasteless chips on top. You mix everything together and you enjoy it! The chef put many different sauces but I can't identify any of them. The sauces do not have a very strong taste either.

Sea bass grilled, served with vegetable salad, rice, some tomato sauce, and other sauces.
The name of this dish is 48 hour pork. Why? I'm guessing it takes 48 hours to cook it? hahaha give it a try!

You can try to call to make reservations, but from what I remember, you can't reserve.. so if you simply want to give Kazu a try, go for lunch! You can try their food without having to wait for very long. The place is very small, but I really like the decor. It is very simple but the owner managed to put a lot of tables. There is an authentic japanese feel with a lot of wood everywhere. Kazu has a book menu but what you should really try are those specialities they write on paper and stick on the wall. The name may sound very simple, so just ask them what those dishes are! If I go back again, I won't forget to take some pictures of the restaurant!

Seacret nail care

Hi readers!

Today, I want to present Seacret to you. This brand has gradually entered the Canadian market these years. You can find one of their kiosks in almost every shopping mall.

Seacret offers an extensive line of beauty products. This brand is known for their use of the ancient salt and minerals from the Dead Sea. The cream, lotion, spa products are extracted from this rich reservoir of minerals. It is said that these extracts hydrate and are absorbed by your skin more efficiently.

The above set is Seacret's nail & body care that I received for my birthday from a friend. It includes a body lotion, a buffing block, cuticle oil and a nail file. The body lotion does not have a floral scent that I love, but it has a soft vanilla-like fragrance that reminds you last time you were enjoying a spa. The texture of the lotion is very smooth and silky soft.

The cuticle oil is not bad but I still prefer Sephora's cuticle oil for the fresh floral aroma and a brush-on cuticle oil is just more practical. But since the Seacret oil contains the rich and pure mineals from the Dead Sea, it should do its moisturizing job properly.

If you have very dry skin, Seacret products might be a solution for you. Seacret's collection of cosmetic products are nature-based so it should not do any harm to us. After all, the muds and minerals accumulated in the Dead Sea region for millions of years should be the richest ones, right?

Essie Spaghetti Strap

Essie Spaghetti Strap is a nice sheer pink colour. This picture is 4 coats. I believe it's one of the few times I wear a sheer colour. Love it! It looks like my nails got a gel manicure, isn't it? I bought a gel manicure package online and I really can't wait to try it! For now, I'll have fake gel nails using Essie Spaghetti Strap d=

St-Hubert Express

Yes food again! I just finished my last exam two days ago and it was the hardest class.. I'm glad it was the last one so I (supposedly) could focus all my time and energy on it! I'm not sure how I did.. but oh well, now that it's finished, I'm not going to think about it. For now, all I have in mind is simply FOOD =)

I can be lazy for nails sometimes..but when comes about food heheheh I can never be too tired to try out some restaurants d=

Here are some pictures of a St-Hubert Express that has been open for less than a year. Since it is only an Express restaurant, it does not provide the complete menu like the "real" restaurant. However, the "basic" or should I say the most famous dishes are still served here such as the rotisserie chicken, ribs, hot chicken, chicken burger, chicken wrap, etc. Quality of food is satisfactory, portion and price are reasonable. The place is amazingly clean and very comfortable.

Hot chicken combo served with fries, salad and a soft drink.
Chicken burger combo. Not much to say except that the slighly spicy mayo in the burger was tasteful.
